Brian Dorsey graduated from Lincoln University with a Bachelor of Science in Physics and a Masters in Engineering Physics from the University of Virginia. Brian went on to pursue an engineering career by obtaining employment at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division which is located in Dahlgren Virginia. Brian was a Professional Engineer for the Naval Surface Warfare Center for eight years.

Brian worked on several projects including designing a Fiber Optics Database for the Navy’s Ship Self Defense Integration Center at Wallops Island. Brian assisted in the design and installation of the new Air-Blown Fiber Technique. Brian also worked in the Weapons Control Branch on the Gun Weapons System Project as a Software Engineer developing Ada and C++ software for the filter and target data software.

Brian worked on the Common Command and Decision (CC&D) Project as a System Engineer. Brian also worked on the Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) Program as System Engineer. Brian was the Chair of the CEC Technical Refresh Committee, which consisted of representatives from Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, NAVSEA, and other supporting contracting companies. Brian’s work as the Chairman of this committee earned him a Letter of Appreciation from the Navy.

Brian performed a six-month detail at the Marine Quantico Base working on the Advanced Amphibious Assault Vehicle. Upon his return to the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, Brian was promoted to Lead System Engineer for the Ship Board Gridlock Auto-Correlation (SGSAC) Program.

As a part of his collateral duty assignment, Brian was also a Professional Recruiter and School Manger at Lincoln University and the University of Virginia. Brian spent seven years as a recruiter and earned several awards for recruiting.

Brian was selected by the Division Head of the Maritime Defense Division to develop a recruiting process that would help the Maritime Defense Division recruit the most qualified talent to work in the division. Brian’s work on the Recruiting process earned him a Malcolm Balridge Best Practice nomination for developing a hiring process for management at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division.

Brian was also an Adjunct Physics Instructor at Rappahannock Community College in Warsaw and King George Virginia. Brian taught at Rappahannock Community College for three years preparing students for the continuation of their college careers to a four-year institution.

Brian Dorsey is Founder/President of 3-D Community Services and Housing Inc. 3-DCommunity Services and Housing is a non-profit organization, which has a mission to provide community services and low income housing to low income residents of Philadelphia. 3-D Community Services and Housing flagship program is a pre-college program for youth in grades 3-12. Brian has formed partnerships with organizations such as  CLDA, NASA Pennsylvania Space Consortium, Salvation Army , 4-Quarters Housing, and Keystone State Basketball Camp, as well as others. Brian’s organizational and management skills has provided 3-D Community Services and Housing with a strong foundation within the non-profit community. Mr. Brian Dorsey is currently a Parent and Group Supervisor at The Salvation Army Learning Zone Temple Corp, and he is an instructor at Harcum College. Mr. Brian Dorsey also serves on the Board of Directors for Craetive Kids Club, Consultant for Scholarship in Progress, and a Founding Member of Scholarship In Progress Charter School.
